2019 is expected to be a year of great leap forward, with the new university hospital being newly built and opened. However, unfortunately, a scandal that undermines the school policy of "justice, fraternity, and service," which is the philosophy of our university's education, was revealed in July 2018. We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet the expectations of the examinees and causing a great deal of inconvenience and concern to society. Due to this situation, the university faced a serious crisis that greatly damaged the trust of society and threatened the survival of the university. In response to such a situation, the university faced it head-on and aimed to break the chain of scandals. Therefore, we will increase the transparency of university management, establish governance and compliance, build a new organizational structure that can directly reflect external third-party evaluations, and revise the donation act that enables drastic reforms in November 2018. I went to the moon. Based on this amendment donation, new councilors, directors and auditors were appointed on December 22, enabling further progress and continuation of reforms. Then, by grasping the whole picture of the situation as soon as possible, it was necessary to restore the trust of Tokyo Medical University and show a more concrete and long-term policy for revitalization. Fortunately, the third-party committee was able to meet the initial deadline for submitting the report by the end of December and publish it on December 29, the end of the year. Then, in accordance with this report, the university was able to post a policy on its homepage showing that it will respond in good faith and appropriately to those who suffered disadvantages due to problematic behavior in the entrance examination.
