The MS in Speech-Language Pathology provides a comprehensive clinical and academic education that prepares students for careers as speech-language pathologists in health care and educational positions. TCU enjoys an extremely high success rate for graduates taking the national examination for certification. The pass rates on the PRAXIS have been 100% for the last 3 years. The MS in Speech-Language Pathology prepares individuals to practice in a field or trade that may be considered a professional practice in certain states. Licensure or certification may be required to practice in that field or trade. However, educational requirements for licensure or certification vary by state. The nurse educator’s three roles are teacher, scholar, and collaborator. Nurse educators assume leadership in curriculum, instruction, and evaluation. The nurse educator is responsible for the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application, and integration. Educating the next generation of nurses also depends on the nurse educator’s ability to interact with many diverse constituencies such as students, peers, administrators, groups, and communities. They may practice in academic, staff development, or community settings. The nurse educator must choose a population focus for their studies. Options at TCU include adult-gerontology or pediatrics. Clinical Experience One year of full-time experience or its equivalent as a registered nurse is preferred
