Introduction
After the first cycle of studies (license), the master's degree in “Energy efficiency of technical building installations”, EEITB adds to the skills of engineers, in-depth knowledge in the main areas of research developed in our Faculty: building energy, comfort in indoor environments, the behavior of technical building systems (ventilation, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical installations, lighting, sanitary installations, automatic management, acoustics, air pollution and filtration systems, renewable energy sources).
The graduation
The diploma of the Romanian Public Higher Education obtained in the field "Installations for the Constructions (Civil Engineering)" is officially recognized in all the member countries of the EU. In addition, the master's degree in 'Energy efficiency of technical building installations (EEIC)' is, from the 2016-2017 academic year, the subject of a Double-Degree Program carried out with the University of La Rochelle (ULR) , Master in Building Engineering, IB-GI3ER course. The agreement between the two Universities (UTCB and ULR) provides for the harmonization of the two study programs and, also, exchanges of teachers and students. Students (ULR + UTCB) benefiting from the exchange program will be able to obtain the Double-Diploma (the master's degrees from each university).
Admissions
Curriculum
Classes are based on topics such as:
- advanced technical thermodynamics (compressible gas dynamics, irreversible thermodynamics with finite velocity, unconventional energy systems),
- fluid mechanics (boundary layer, turbulence, CFD),
- advanced electrical engineering (theoretical electrical engineering, transient and non-sinusoidal electrical networks),
- numerical modeling and simulation of the behavior of equipment and installation systems,
- experimental methods for monitoring the operation of installation systems,
- complex technical management systems,
- renewable and efficient sources of energy,
- “intelligent” materials, equipment and systems used in buildings with very low energy consumption,
- methods for evaluating the energy performance of installation systems (auditing and energy certification of buildings).
Most master's courses include tutorials or practical work. The last semester is allocated to the development of the dissertation thesis and practical internships in companies.
Program Outcome
Skills and Professional Career
At the end of the master's degree, students can easily develop a career in fundamental research (modeling and numerical simulation) or in experimental research - field of civil engineering, activities that have become in great demand, well also for project engineers, inspection engineers and experts. The practical skills obtained also make it possible to work better in installation assembly, in design (for systems of all degrees of complexity) or in the operation of modern installation systems and in technical expertise activities.
In-depth knowledge of the operation of installation systems offers the possibility of evaluating existing systems (by technical inspection, by audit and energy certification and by functional diagnosis), to anticipate the behavior of buildings and their systems and also to carry out their effective use. The digital simulation carried out with high-performance computer tools and also the experimental research developed in particular around high-quality non-invasive mobile laboratories ensures the learning of these point study techniques.
