Introduction
If you’re passionate about visual storytelling, there’s a place for you in the multimedia, photography and design program. Our curriculum covers a wide range of expertise areas, including photography, videography, cinematography, graphic design, motion design, immersive design, UIUX design and multimedia. You will gain experience and prepare for careers with publications, corporations, non-profit organizations and other settings. (37 credits)

What is the focus of the program?
- Photography (photojournalism/documentary, advertising/illustration, fashion, portraiture).
- Videography/cinematography (latest methods in short-form fiction and non-fiction audio and video collection and production).
- Editing and postproduction for still photography and video (story structure, image/clip editing, non-linear video editing, colour correction, compression, and output).
- Design (motion graphics, publication, web, tablet, mobile, branding, typography)
- Story (concept, structure, management, fiction, and non-fiction).
- Entrepreneurial/business skills (writing, social media, marketing, ethics, law).

Scholarships and Funding
Various scholarships, fellowships and instructional associate positions are awarded to incoming Newhouse students to help offset the cost of attendance. Since Newhouse does have limited funding to offer, the majority of these awards are partial and only applicable for the academic year (excluding the summer sessions). It is also a competitive process, and all awards are merit-based.
