Introduction
This course is designed for those who want to fast-track into a career in Journalism. This is a highly vocational award and has full accreditation from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).
Staffordshire University enjoys strong links with the journalism industry and our teaching staff have many years experience of working in newspapers, online journalism, radio and television.
You will benefit from working with a team of top journalists and academics and learn how to self-operate as a multi-media journalist. Our focus is on combining theory and practice within a lively and engaging atmosphere that replicates the real world of journalism. The emphasis is on independent study, developing a portfolio and pursuing career prospects. The award follows a programme of continuous assessment and requires students to undertake a fully assessed work placement.
Students are able to sit the NCTJ qualifications in Reporting, Law, Public Affairs, Video Journalism, Production, Portfolio and Shorthand while on course.
