Introduction
The main purpose of ASBU Philosophy Master Program is to train specialists who are familiar with the philosophical basis of practical problems. Three main topics of specialisms will be critical thinking, philosophy of technology (with a focus on artificial intelligence) and philosophy of social sciences.
The importance of critical thinking in education; social, economic and ethical problems that emerged with technological advances and the transformation of social sciences with new interdisciplinary trends increases the need for specialists trained in these areas.
For this purpose our curriculum includes four courses in the first and second semesters; namely Logic and Critical Thinking, Scieintific Research Techniques and Publication Ethics, Philosophy of Social Sciences, Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence. One of these four courses is the method course that focuses on the principles of graduate education and ways of conducting research. The other three are on the three specialisms that we aim to focus on. The remaining credits will be loaded with four elective courses in the first year and speciality courses and the thesis in the second year.
