Introduction

This programme entirely in English leads to a Master degree in Journalism from the Sciences Po School of Journalism, and a Master degree from the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) .

The Joint Master in Journalism and International Affairs reinforces the complementary approaches of international education and practical apprenticeship of journalism. The Sciences Po School of Journalism combines practical journalism training with advanced academic instruction in the social sciences and international affairs.

In the face of recent technological changes and globalization, the School of Journalism has three goals. First, to educate future journalists to analyze and understand the complex world they will report on, in a field where precision, analytical rigor, and intellectual integrity are indispensable. Second, to cover crucial information and events that have decisive roles in society. And third, to prepare students for the digital age, thinking about changes in technology and their impacts on the evolution of journalism.

Students attend workshops in journalism (Reporting and Writing, Multimedia storytelling, long form journalism, TV News, TV Reporting, editorial meeting, radio writing and production techniques, producing multimedia and videos online), and intensive workshops during which they produce information on International issues and experience the context of working in a newsroom's real conditions.

Students are required to complete a 10-weeks credit-bearing internship at the end of Semester 2 (from May t- the end of August) and a 10-weeks internship at the end of Semester 4 within the field of Journalism. During their second year, students complete a Master project (3 weeks of coverage on a story defined with the help of a professional) and the "Grand Oral" of Sciences Po.
