Introduction

Master of Finance (MF)

The Schulich Master of Finance (MF) provides students with the robust real-world training and analytical foundation needed for a rewarding career in modern finance.

Students will develop their understanding of corporate finance, risk management, private equity, compliance and more. Courses place a strong emphasis on real-world applications and context. Critical topics in governance, ethics and the legal aspects of finance are embedded in the MF curriculum.

Students also participate in Finance Research Seminars and the Professional Seminar Series, with courses in Ethics and Governance and options to specialize in Capital Markets or Financial Risk Management.

The Schulich MF is a program partner of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute, the global industry standard for finance professionals. The MF curriculum covers a significant portion of the CFA’s body of knowledge, enabling students to prepare for all three levels of the CFA as they pursue their MF. Students also benefit from CFA online resources, scholarships and industry networking events.

The Schulich MF is a program partner of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). The MF curriculum covers at least 70% of the FRM’s level one exam, preparing students for the two levels of the FRM exams after completing the MF degree. Students are entitled to use GARP online resources free of charge. They are also eligible to apply for GARP’s scholarships and fellowship. In addition, they can join GARP’s networking events.
