Introduction
The Master Degree in Electronics Engineering Programme (class LM-29) provides students with specific skills related to electronic digital systems, integrated components, microwave circuits, radiofrequency systems, and advanced communications together with multidisciplinary laboratory competencies and mathematical advanced topics. A set of subjects going from discrete circuits to machine learning, from advanced antennas to electromagnetic scattering, from circuit design to embedded systems, from nanoelectronics to power electronics, from optoelectronics to lasers and accelerators, from environmental electronics to Earth observation, from bioengineering to wireless communication systems can complete the MDEE. External stages for carrying out the master thesis are also foreseen. The program emphasizes system-related and interdisciplinary aspects and is closely linked with research and innovation activities in the Italian and international job market context.
Admissions
Curriculum
The curriculum of studies is based on the general principle that the electronic engineer must be able to intervene autonomously on complex systems, using knowledge in many fields of information engineering and often of the whole of Engineering. Therefore, advanced knowledge of engineering disciplines is required in the specific areas of electronics, telecommunications and information technology, and in the main related areas. The training course therefore includes both advanced basic training, including mathematics and physics courses, and training in the area of information, particularly in Electronics, Electromagnetic Fields, and Telecommunications. The purpose of this preparation is to make the Electronic engineer ready and able to intervene in the multiple areas of application of electronic systems and make it able to follow the rapid changes expected in the field of information engineering. Alongside training, common to all the courses, specialized curricular completions will be offered in the various areas of application of the Electronics. The course also focuses on practical experience, with specialized laboratories according to the different application areas. Each credit granted is considered 8 hours of classroom lessons (12 in the laboratory courses) and 25 hours of individual preparation.

Program Outcome
Learning outcomes
The objective of the Master's Degree course in Electronic Engineering is to train an Engineer capable of designing and developing electronic technologies and systems for the generation, processing, transmission, and storage of information, in the most diverse application contexts. Modern information and telecommunications technologies constitute a single whole that is difficult to divide into distinct sectors. If on the one hand ICT (Information & Communication Technology) systems require a plurality of technical-scientific contributions, on the other the electronic components have themselves become true integrated systems, capable of determining the performance of the systems of which they are part and which influence its design.
The characteristic that specifically distinguishes the educational objectives of the master's degree in Electronic Engineering is that of considering electronic systems in their complexity and entirety, also taking into account the problems of design and construction of its components (both hardware and software). The master's degree in Electronic Engineering provides the skills necessary for this complex professional figure by delving into the themes of information and communication technologies, for man and the environment. A course of study is thus outlined which, based on the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, computer science, and electronics, already possessed by students thanks to the preparation acquired at the first-degree level, deepens them and develops their application potential by directing teaching towards the design and management of electronic systems.
The training course for the Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering addresses both the methodological and application aspects of electronic systems in the field of information engineering. The course is based on teachings considered characterization, such as those on digital system architectures, microwave circuits, radio frequency systems, integrated electronic components, advanced electrical communications, advanced mathematics, and multidisciplinary electronics laboratory. As part of the specialization of their training path, the student can choose courses in various application sectors, such as circuits and algorithms for information processing, distributed electronic systems, the design of devices and systems at high frequencies, the design electronics, the design of digital electronic systems, microelectronic technologies, optoelectronics, and photonics, particle and laser accelerators, electronics for the environment and complex systems, remote sensing and Earth observation, electronic systems for bioengineering and electronic systems for telecommunications.
Scholarships and Funding
We can offer such convenient rates thanks to public funding from the Italian Ministry of Higher Education. Additionally, students can apply for various scholarships available at different levels, awarded based on academic merit and/or family income.
