Introduction
The Master’s program in Cybersecurity at the Sapienza University of Rome is characterized by an interdisciplinary offering that collects contributions from computer science, engineering, statistics, legal-economic, and organizational sciences, along with specific knowledge of protection against cyber-attacks in the main application domains.
This master's degree provides English-only teaching to facilitate integration into an international work environment and the participation of international students and professors. The MSc in Cybersecurity provides three study plans designed to train professionals with different skills, namely: the Software plan, the Processes and Governance plan, and the Infrastructures and Systems plan. This master's degree is a 2-year, 120 ECTS program ending with developing and discussing a final thesis project.

Program Outcome
Learning outcomes
The Master's Degree aims to endow students with advanced knowledge and train professional skills that are necessary to research, design, implement, test, coordinate, and manage information technology systems related to the different application areas of computer sciences and technologies in the framework of the security and protection of computer systems, networks, and infrastructures and the security and privacy of data treatment. The Master's graduates in Cybersecurity perform activities to design, develop, implement, check, maintain, control, and manage secure and protected computer infrastructures and systems. The main purpose of their work is to constantly improve secure and protected computer systems, also about the secure management of sensitive data, accompanied by the ability to adapt and suggest the use of innovative tools that are constantly made available in this field. Therefore, the master's Degree aims to train professionals who are endowed with high-level scientific and technological knowledge, and methodological and operational skills and who develop an open and critical mind towards the problems related to the use of computer technologies.
The Master's Degree aims to provide students coming from different study backgrounds, including Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistical Sciences, with a multidisciplinary education/training in the field of Cybersecurity.
Specific learning outcomes:
- Knowledge of scientific aspects related to the basics of design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of infrastructures, computer systems, and the related data security and protection
- Knowledge of methodologies and technological tools necessary to design, implement, test, and maintain secure and protected computer infrastructures, data, and systems, paying attention to both formal and experimental techniques.
- Knowledge of the basics of Juridical Computer Science and E-Commerce Law
- Effective communication skills, both in writing and speech, in at least one of the European Union languages in addition to Italian, with reference also to specialized terminology
- Development of basic cognitive skills for the continuous growth of personal knowledge
- Ability to work autonomously, also taking on project and team-leading roles, and showing relational and decision-making skills.
