Introduction
The Master’s program in Fashion Studies (LM-65) prepares students for high-level responsibilities in the world of fashion, as well as its relations with figurative arts, communications, and entertainment, or for independent careers in the fashion industry and a wide range of related fields.
Students acquire skills and specialist knowledge related to the development of the fashion industry, both historically and as an ongoing trend, with special attention to cultural, symbolic, and economic/financial factors, as well as the entrepreneurial and management skills necessary to work in this field.
The Master's program uses interdisciplinary teachings involving scholars from several disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, marketing, and technical and management disciplines. Strong professional connections in the field of fashion provide students with insight into today’s world of fashion
The Master is organized in 4 semesters (2 years) and provides students with mandatory and optional courses. There are only two compulsory courses, during the first year (I semester).
In each semester (and year) students are given the chance to choose between several selective courses within specific discipline groups.
In this way, students are given relevant freedom to specialize their learning.
Lessons are concentrated in three semesters; the last one is dedicated to the final thesis, internship experiences, and Erasmus mobility. The program provides students with more opportunities for seminars, workshops, and events and hosts international scholars for special lectures about fashion.
Admissions
Curriculum
Students have to define their «percorso formativo» (study plan) from November 2023 to March 2024. Training path can be filled on the online platform INFOSTUD/GOMP. Without the studyplan exams can not be booked.
You may fill in your "percorso formativo" (study plan) on INFOSTUD starting from November 2023.
Starting from now you may think about what subjects you intend to have in your learning path.
You will access "Percorso Formativo" from your Infostud profile. You will be introduced to a list of exams organized in subgroups. You have to select exams within each group according to the number of credits required (i.e in the group Economics you have 4 subjects but you have to select 12 credits /2 subjects; in the group where you have The Science of Drawing and Clothes on film you may select only one subject ...)
You also have 18 credits that you may use to select subjects that you have not already selected (i.e. if in the group of economics, you have only 2 subjects to select but you are interested in more subjects you may select them in the group "Insegnamenti a scelta dello studente", open the list of subjects and select the ones you are interested in.
Finally, you have to select Workshop II or Stage (internship) as "Altre Attività Formative". You don't need to flag Workshop I as it is automatically considered by the platform as mandatory during the first year.
