Advancing Engineering Leaders
Rutgers School of Engineering provides students with a strong technical background and prepares them for leadership careers in exciting and challenging professions. Both our teaching and research are firmly rooted in scientific principles while incorporating knowledge of today’s challenges.
- Master of Science (MS)
- Master of Engineering (ME)
Rutgers’ Chemical and Biochemical Engineering program provides a comprehensive, modern chemical engineering graduate program, with exciting and innovative research efforts in core areas such as nanoscience and nanotechnology, transport phenomena, reaction engineering, thermodynamics and molecular simulations, separations, and process systems engineering.
We also have extensive cross-disciplinary activities in bioengineering and biotechnology, and polymer science and materials engineering. In addition, the department is the first of its kind in the country to offer a full spectrum of graduate training and research in pharmaceutical engineering, an emerging area that will have an expanding impact in the decades to come.
The department has a dynamic and active faculty of 22 doing cutting-edge research in many areas of chemical engineering. Based on a very strong foundation in computational methods, modeling and systems engineering, our faculty’s work is clustered in the areas of:
- Pharmaceutical science and technology.
- Engineering in the life sciences (biotechnology, biomolecular engineering, tissue engineering).
- Design, manufacture, and application of nanostructured materials.
