Why study Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University?
The Master's programme in Artificial Intelligence at Radboud has a distinctly cognitive focus, centred around computational modelling. We offer students two exciting specialisations: cognitive computing and intelligent technology.
Radboud also offers two unique double degree options in combination with the AI programme: computing science, and cognitive neuroscience.
At Radboud, you will also have access to other great research institutes. This programme works closely with the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, conducting research in EEG, fMRI, and MEG. This programme also cooperates with the Radboud Behavioural Science Institute and its Virtual Reality Laboratory.

What will you learn?
In the Master’s programme Artificial Intelligence, you will learn how to advance the study of brain and cognition by adopting typical AI tools, such as computer simulation, brain-computer interfacing and robotic design.
This programme has a unique character, focusing on connections between artificial intelligence and cognitive neuroscience. Understanding how the brain works and how it supports intelligent cognitive behaviour is essential for effective agent design. In turn, agent design can lead to hypotheses about how intelligent behaviour is realised by humans.
The programme is closely related to the research carried out by the internationally renowned Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. This institute has several unique facilities for brain imaging using EEG, fMRI and MEG. You will be able to use these facilities for developing new experimental research techniques, as well as for developing new machine learning algorithms to analyse the brain data and integrate them with brain-computer interfacing systems. You will also cooperate with the Behavioural Science Institute and work in its Virtual Reality Laboratory, which can be used to study the social interaction between humans and avatars.
