We offer two distinct options: the Master of Data Analytics focuses on practical application; the Master of Science in Data Analytics is a research-focused program.

The Master of Data Analytics program requires 30 credits — 18 core credits, 9 elective credits, and 3 capstone credits.
- Seven-week courses are offered either in an in-person/online hybrid format or fully online.
- Fully in-person courses are available each semester to comply with visa requirements.
- Capstone course builds upon the theories, technology, and skills learned in previous coursework.
The Master of Science in Data Analytics program requires 30 credits — 15 core credits, 9 elective credits, and 6 thesis credits.
- Seven-week courses are offered either in an in-person/online hybrid format or fully online.
- Fully in-person courses are available each semester to comply with visa requirements.
- Thesis paper is taken over two terms, and requires the completion of CITI training
- You’ll work with an assigned faculty adviser for the course of your research.
- To graduate, your thesis must be accepted by a committee, the head of the graduate program, and the chancellor.
Program Outcome
Upon completion of the data analytics program, our graduates will:
- Be able to effectively communicate technical knowledge, including ideas, data analysis, findings, or decision justification in written formats in a manner appropriate to the audience.
- Be able to analyze large data sets to support data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrate understanding of machine learning and statistical analysis techniques.
- Be able to discriminate between descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and the techniques used in each.
- Demonstrate their understanding of technologies used to develop, optimize, and deploy large-scale databases.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to practice the professional standards of engineering and professional behavior.
