Introduction
Mission and goals
The program focuses on the modification and the regeneration of urban fabric, as well as of fragile territories, on interventions of building extensions and transformation, restoration, and enhancement. The program offers the possibility to characterize the study plan according to personal interests by choosing, besides the compulsory courses, a large number of elective thematic Design Studios. Furthermore, specific courses aimed at providing advanced knowledge on Computational Design are available during the two-year program. Besides curricular activities, the School provides a number of international seminars, conferences, workshops, and study visits to enhance academic development. Graduates of our MSc program are currently working as independent professionals, for Public Administration, research institutes, private firms both in Italy and abroad. Politecnico di Milano has been home to many well-known architects of the 20th Century, such as Renzo Piano, Franco Albini, Achille Castiglioni, Franca Helg, Ernesto Nathan Rogers, and Aldo Rossi. The program is taught in English.
