Science-Based Problem Solving
- Pace offers fully equipped facilities for forensic chemistry and biology, including a new state-of-the-art DNA sequencing lab and specialized laboratories with virtual crime scene reconstruction software and forensic microscopy.
- What makes our program truly unique is that our faculty members maintain full-time affiliations with the major forensic laboratories of local and federal law enforcement agencies.
- We provide students with connections to numerous employment opportunities in labs with the New York Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office.
Add Opportunities and Experiences
Our program offers students the opportunity to participate in internships with investigative teams in New York City at major-area crime labs, and upon completing program requirements, students will be able to begin actively working in a forensic laboratory or consider applying for admission into medical or dental schools or advanced graduate studies in forensic science, biology, or chemistry. Students can do research in drug analysis, arson accelerant detection, genetic sequencing, and proteomics.

Scholarships and Funding
Pace University offers students as much financial assistance as possible. Financial Aid can come in many forms, including scholarships and grants, work-study, and student loans. Financial Aid award packages offered by Pace University typically consist of a combination of awards from these types of aid programs.
General Rules Covering All Financial Aid
- Any combination of tuition-specific Pace-funded scholarships, grants, or awards and New York State or other tuition-specific funding cannot exceed your actual tuition charges.
- All financial aid combined may not exceed your Cost of Attendance.
- You must be matriculated in a degree program at Pace University to receive any financial aid other than Alternative Loans. (Note that some certificate program students also qualify). Matriculated means that you are admitted to and enrolled in a degree or applicable certificate program.
- Generally, students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits per semester) to qualify for aid. Exceptions are Federal Pell Grants and Alternative Loans.

Career Options
- The Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Northeast Regional Laboratory, employs forensic chemists specializing in the identification of drugs.
- The New York City Police Department (NYPD) forensic laboratory, employs criminalists for drug identification, fingerprints, arson, and trace evidence.
- The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), which is the largest DNA lab in the country employs criminalists in its toxicology laboratory and forensic biology laboratory.
Our alumni also work at governmental forensic laboratories in other jurisdictions, private forensic laboratories, and major pharmaceutical companies.
