Introduction
The Professional Music Teacher Education (PMTE) program at Oregon State University is a competitive, selective, and rigorous program of study designed for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in music or music education. The program results in a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and an endorsement toward an Oregon Teaching License. Candidates must also successfully complete and pass the edTPA portfolio assessment during the course of their student teaching internship, which is scored by external evaluators.
