Introduction
During the last hundred years, epidemiology has been responsible for identifying health problems in communities, as well as studying the relationship of these events with the causes that generate them. These causes have made it possible to guide solutions through vaccination campaigns, prevention or control of diseases.
Epidemiology, considered a fundamental discipline of public health, is in charge of studying the distribution and determinants of events related to the health status of specific populations and the application of this knowledge to the prevention and control of health problems.
THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS: THE OCCURRENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF DISEASES, THE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RESEARCH DESIGNS AND THE APPLICATION OF THIS KNOWLEDGE IN THE STUDY OF THE POPULATIONS. THIS PROGRAM HAS TWO POSSIBLE AREAS: ÉREAS
