Introduction
The School offers Masters programme in World Literature.
The programme enables students to gain a broad acquaintance with a gamut of literature across the genres from around the world, transitions in the field of literary studies, literary and cultural texts, theories and methodologies of study as well as undertake coursework with specific, closely defined topics on a variety of literature and cultures and through a variety of materials. It explores literature and culture across languages, and investigates the intersections among literature, cultures, media, and disciplines, with a specific focus on South Asia and Southeast Asia. The programme offers a broad foundation for further research in literary and cultural studies. The mission of the curriculum is to provide students with a thorough grounding in the Humanities knowledge domains. Based on the interdisciplinary tradition of Nalanda University, the programme encourages the students to integrate insights and approaches from diverse domains into their studies.

Curriculum
Our course distribution requirements are designed to provide each student with familiarity across a diverse range of knowledge domains as well a broad spectrum of thematic and/or methodological concerns. The School values both traditional historical fields as well as non-historical ways of conceiving literature and criticism, and considers that the study of literature includes the study of creative and reflective expressions.

- 4 Reading Seminar courses equivalent to 4 credits (1 X 4)
- Dissertation equivalent to 9 credits

- The University has scholarships for the ASEAN countries, BIMSTEC nations, Bhutan, and Thailand. A limited scholarship for students from Developing Countries and Monks/Nuns students. To be considered for a scholarship, the student has to submit an online application and attend an online interview.
