Introduction
This flexible, one-year LLM program, delivered in English, provides an entry point to a wide range of different careers, including legal practice and entrepreneurship. It is delivered by specialists from Lithuania, Netherlands, and Spain working in the field of legal technology, and ensures students get the benefit of the latest technologies and industry standards.
It provides face-to-face and experiential learning, including gamification and practical start-up simulations, that require students to prepare and defend a product or a start-up idea, all delivered flexibly in the evening, and through streamlined modules that meet students’ expectations and needs.
We work closely with global partners, including Evershed Saladzius, Amberlo, and Fondia. We organize meetings and events with public bodies and local partners, and students can also benefit from wider extra-curricular activities, as well as the vibrant student community and academic environment at the University.
This program focuses on soft as well as practical skills, such as collaboration and teamwork, commercial acumen, creative problem-solving, digital transformation, and strategy. Our program attracts global students, providing a valuable opportunity to work and network with new peers from across the world. It is an interdisciplinary program, bringing together diverse areas such as data, artificial Intelligence, FinTech, RegTech, CyberTech, gamification, intellectual property, robotics, ethics, and legal semantics. We also provide the opportunity to progress to Doctoral studies.
Students in this program undertake a mandatory work placement that further provides practical learning opportunities in a real-life context and a chance to acquire valuable skills.
Students live and get to network within Lithuania, and also the Baltics, and the EU, and can also study within the University’s specialist Innovation Labs.
At the Law School, there is a strong emphasis on ‘Law for a Quality Life’ and what the Law School can do to contribute to skills and career development.

State scholarships for full-time master degree studies
Each year, the Education Exchanges Support Foundation opens applications for Lithuanian state scholarships for international full-time Master’s degree students accepted at Lithuanian higher education institutions.
The scholarship includes a monthly stipend and a grant covering study costs.

- Personal and Social Abilities
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team of lawyers and technology specialists, to organize and manage work tasks and timing, effectively cooperate with colleagues reconciling opposing interests, objectives, and knowledge of legal and technological specialists, to help specialists in the fields of law and informatics to cooperate constructively, to assign and coordinate work tasks;
- Ability to communicate with different audiences, including lawyers and technology specialists, to understand principles related to LegalTech start-up communication, to be able to transfer the specialized knowledge to relevant audiences and select appropriate communication means, platforms, and tools;
- Ability to interest both specialists and people with a general profile with legal and technological knowledge and abilities, as well as to communicate that knowledge attractively; to be able to organize, motivate, and understand other team members, especially for reforms through LegalTech, and take into account the opinions of various specialists related to technological reforms and to understand the responsibility towards current and potential corporate clients and other people who will be affected by the technological reforms.

- Ability to apply and adapt the acquired LegalTech knowledge in practice, develop LegalTech idea and create conditions for its commercialization, or gain the approval of specialists from the technology information, law, business, and other fields for further practical development of the idea;

- Research skills
- Ability to demonstrate well-developed skills of self-learning, to conduct LegalTech-specific data search, to select the most relevant sources and understand the depth of relevant scientific research, to plan resources and time necessary for the implementation of tasks, and to identify and manage the potential risks.
- Special Abilities
- Ability to advise on issues related to legal aspects of the newest technologies, to resolve various LegalTech interdisciplinary issues critically and creatively, including the most complex ones, to prepare proposals for resolution of identified legal problems and legal regulation improvements, to select appropriate means and methods for problem-solving and make well-grounded conclusions;
- Ability to critically analyze, interpret, compare, and assess legal relations and legal regulation of the newest technologies, to make well-grounded proposals for improvement of legal regulation.

Program graduates will be able to work in the following profiles:
- private sector related to innovations in the legal service provision (lawyers, deputy managers of organizations/companies for technologies (CTO), managers in LegalTech companies, startups, consultancy companies advising businesses, various international companies and organizations,
virtual and distance-based companies;
- public sector (such specialists will be particularly in demand in the process of the modernization of the public sector, implementation of innovations, and digitalization; both in national and
international organizations);
- academic sector (H2020 calls and EU Innovation policy confirm that such graduates are in demand in the academic sector and would be eligible for international research programs, junior researchers positions, and participation in various international projects;
- self-employment (freelancing) using global consultancies’ systems.
In addition, it is expected that in the course of the program, the participants develop their LegalTech startups and produce the prototypes (MVP), thus creating job placements by themselves.
