Montpellier Business School, a Grande Ecole, is heir to a long tradition of teaching based on the needs of businesses and markets. Founded in 1897 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montpellier, the school has succeeded in continually refining its specialized teaching in management science to adapt its courses to constant changes in local and global economic environments.

The institution’s strategy is “to be a leading European Management School in the Occitanie Region, internationally recognized for the values it promotes, its academic excellence regarding managerial innovation and entrepreneurship and the concern for global responsibility and performance, which characterizes its operations, stakeholders and results”.

In order to achieve this strategic goal of global and sustainable performance, Montpellier Business School, that positions itself in the fields of managerial innovation and entrepreneurship thanks to its activities, has adopted the core values of ethics, diversity, openness, responsibility as well as global performance, all inspiring its mission which is “to train, through higher education programs, managers who are strengthened by their diversity, aware of their global responsibility, able to make use of their sense of innovation and corporate culture in the performance of their professional activities and to adapt to constant changes in local, national and international environments”.

The quality of its strategy and results is internationally recognized. Its triple international accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS), its place on the Financial Times Ranking of the world’s best Master in Management programs as well as its place in the French rankings attest its excellent international reputation.

Our mission

Montpellier Business School’s mission is to “train, through higher education programs, managers who are strengthened by their diversity, aware of their global responsibility in carrying out their missions and able to adapt to changes in local, national and international environments”.

Our values: a commitment at the root of every action

At Montpellier Business School, three major families of institutional values guide every aspect of the school’s functioning and teaching and are reflected every day in all of its actions and commitments:

Ethics: capacity to engage in critical thinking about the rules of human conduct, whatever they may be; that is to say, to constantly question general actions through the singular act in order to define the “right thing to do”, based on the values of honesty, fairness, and integrity.

Openness and diversity: the capacity of dealing with diversity in all its forms, either voluntarily or involuntarily, without demagogic intent, with the intelligence of positive openness.

Global responsibility and performance: the constant search for economic, social and environmental efficiency in one’s actions, a sharp awareness of their impacts on all stakeholders along with a willingness to report them in a transparent manner.

The implementation of these values is recognized by strict labels:

  • EESPIG
  • Diversity
  • Professional Equality
  • United Nations Compact
  • Global Compact
