Metropolia is the largest University of Applied Sciences in Finland, Helsinki, with the largest offering in the fields of Health Care and Social Services and Technology. We are a community of over 17,000 students and 1,000 staff members, with 1,500 foreign degree students of over 100 nationalities.
Everyone can make a difference – Metropolia's role as a University of Applied Sciences is to enable our students to do just that. Besides skills and knowledge, we provide chances to put those and any innovative ideas to the test in real life. As we’re closely connected to working life in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, our students are surrounded by a wide variety of innovation projects, traineeships, and employment opportunities. We encourage multidisciplinary thinking and continuous learning – which is why we support unique study paths. We want to take responsibility for our student’s well-being by providing optimal conditions for studying and student services.
We are located in the capital area of Helsinki, with excellent career prospects and working opportunities both during studies and after graduation. The dynamic and modern capital area offers various recreational activities, shopping malls, restaurants and cafes, green nature and parks, and excellent public transportation connections. All our four modern campuses are within easy reach by public transport.

Campus Features
We at Metropolia want to offer our students and staff a safe and pleasant environment to study and work in. We have concentrated our operations in four campuses in the capital region of Helsinki. Metropolia’s four campuses create an open and attractive learning environment and network.All our modern four campuses are within easy reach by public transport.
Arabia Campus:
Metropolia’s Arabia Culture Campus is a vibrant urban arena for creating ideas and stories. The campus attracts creative minds from diverse cultural fields - from film and TV production to musical studies- continuing the district’s long tradition of arts and design while boldly moving ahead in new directions.
Karamalmi Campus:
Karamalmi campus is Metropolia’s Developer Campus for Smart Solutions. In the campus our engineering students create solutions for tomorrow with the help of smart technologies and process leadership.
Myllypuro Campus:
Metropolia's brand-new Myllypuro Campus in Helsinki is open to life and new encounters. The campus brings together people-focused expertise where well-being, built environment and healthy future are developed together.The new campus is built partly on top of the metro for 6000 students and 500 employees. The Campus for Builders of Well-being is the largest of Metropolia's four campuses.
Myyrmaki Campus:
Metropolia’s Myyrmäki campus in Vantaa is where Industrial Technology meets International Business. The campus is a multicultural hub where people work in close collaboration with companies, at the forefront of sustainable development.
Many Metropolia students live in HOAS’s (Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region) apartments. A full time degree student in the capital area can apply for a room in a shared apartment, a studio apartment, a two-room apartment, a roomie apartment or a family apartment after being admitted to a school.
The affordable rent includes water and in some apartments electricity, too. In addition, there is a free internet connection and usually a common sauna and laundry room as well.
HOAS apartments are situated near campuses or within good public transportation connections in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.
