Clinical music therapy actively applies supportive science to the creative, emotional, and energizing experiences of music for health treatment and educational goals. Maryville University’s Master of Music Therapy, the only degree program in music therapy in the St. Louis region, can launch you into this fast-growing field. Offered through the Walker College of Health Professions, the MMT degree program provides advanced clinical training supported by studies in psychotherapy, ethics, research, and advanced models of treatment needed for national board certification. As a music therapist, you’ll work in interdisciplinary treatment teams serving individuals with mental disorders, substance abuse, dementia, autism, developmental and physical disabilities, and other disorders. Master Of Music Therapy

If you see yourself in such a career, Maryville University’s master’s degree program in occupational therapy could be for you. The post-baccalaureate Master of Occupational Therapy degree is designed to prepare students as entry-level occupational therapy practitioners. We offer two routes of entry to our post-baccalaureate master’s degree. Students entering Maryville as freshmen may qualify for early direct admission to the post-baccalaureate Master of Occupational Therapy program. Students entering via this route complete an undergraduate degree and then transition directly to the Occupational Therapy Master’s program. Graduate admission is aimed at students who will have completed an undergraduate degree and completed all the prerequisite courses necessary to apply. Both routes of entry are competitive and based on qualification scores, application requirements, and completed date of application.

Master Of Occupational Therapy

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) help people of all ages develop or regain the ability to speak, read, write and think clearly, and swallow properly. Those completing the Speech-Language Pathology masters program at Maryville will be prepared for ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification and CCC-SLP status (certificate of clinical competence-speech-language pathology) and Missouri (or other) state licensure (both require completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year after the completion of the master’s degree).
