Introduction
LUT University (The Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT) is a public science university in Finland, that brings together the fields of business, technology, and social sciences.
Clean energy, water, and air are life-giving resources for which we seek new solutions with our expertise in these fields. We help society and businesses in their sustainable renewal.
Our special strengths include scientific quality, collaboration with industry, and education that leads to employment. The World University Rankings place LUT among the world’s top 300 universities. Considering that there are about 30,000 universities in the world, it is an amazing achievement to be in the top one per cent. We are one of the world’s top universities for climate action.
High-Quality Degree Programs
We offer bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, exchange, and seasonal programs. In our degree programs, you can choose from the following disciplines: business administration, chemical engineering, computational engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology, environmental technology, industrial engineering and management, mechanical engineering, software engineering, and social and communication sciences.
We continuously assess the quality of our education and research through international accreditations. Accreditation is a guarantee of the quality, international approval, and continuing development of our programs. Most of our programs have gained quality labels from international accreditation organizations: EUR-ACE, Euro-Inf, and ASIIN in technology and AACSB and EFMD in business.
LUT Community and Campuses
Our international community consists of nearly 9,000 students and experts of almost 100 different nationalities engaged in top-level international scientific research and academic education.
Our campuses are in Lappeenranta and Lahti, and we also offer some programs in our regional units in Kouvola and Mikkeli. The distances between the four cities are short.
Our green and modern campuses offer a compact combination of all the services students need. Most student apartments are located within walking distance, and there are plenty of excellent sports and recreation venues.
