Introduction
Programme overview
The Centre for Languages and Literature is Sweden’s largest research and teaching environment for linguistics, languages, cognitive semiotics, literature, film, and area studies. The MA in Language and Linguistics offers a unique opportunity to study an integrated programme, with obligatory courses in philosophy of science and methods, while allowing you to deepen your knowledge in your specialisation through separate courses. The programme thus combines a broad base with a specific expertise.
You will study together with students from a number of different fields of specialisation, such as Cognitive Semiotics, English, General Linguistics and Phonetics, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Phonetics, and Swedish/Scandinavian Languages.
With an MA in Language and Linguistics, you will be well prepared for further academic studies, as well as attractive to employers looking for highly qualified individuals with knowledge in language and communication.
