Whether your goal is to earn your CPA license or increase your marketability, this flexible program allows you to gain the knowledge and skills you need on a full-time or part-time basis.

M.S. in Accounting Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree from a foreign institution.

If you have or are in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in accounting, it is very likely you have completed all necessary prerequisite coursework for our M.S. in Accounting. If you did not major in accounting, you may need to complete additional units in order to receive your degree.

Space remains available in our incoming fall 2022 class for qualified candidates who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. If you are interested in starting the program this fall (classes begin in late August), please complete your application as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to consider applications for fall 2022 from international applicants who require a student visa.

The spring 2023 semester begins on January 9, 2023; we will begin reviewing applications in September 2022.

November 18, 2022: Deadline for international applicants requiring a student visa.

December 2, 2022: Deadline for domestic applicants.

The fall 2023 semester begins on August 28, 2023; we will begin reviewing applications in January 2023.

May 15, 2023: Round 3 (international applicants)

May 31, 2023: Round 3 (domestic applicants)

We will continue to accept applications after May 31, 2023 until all spaces are full.

Complete and submit an online application and pay a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Resume: You will be required to upload a professional resume.

Personal Statement: You will be required to upload a personal statement, 2–4 pages (12-point font, double-spaced), addressing why you are pursuing an M.S. in Accounting, the reasons you are applying to LMU and the unique strengths you will bring to our program. We also ask that you describe an ethical dilemma that you have encountered and how you resolved it.

Admissions Option 2

All need-based financial aid and most other aid awards at the Federal, State and University level are determined in whole or in part by the information submitted in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can submit your FAFSA and apply for financial aid prior to applying for admission to LMU. Our Financial Aid Office recommends applying for aid as soon as possible.

Only United States citizens and eligible non-citizens are able to receive federal or state-funded types of financial aid.

All M.S. in Accounting applicants who apply by the final deadline are automatically considered for all available scholarships; no special scholarship application is required. Scholarships are awarded based on the strength of the application, including previous academic record, test scores and letters of recommendation. Domestic and international students may qualify.

Scholarships and Funding Option 2

LMU provides an excellent value for a quality M.S. in Accounting program. Tuition for the 2022–2023 academic year is $1,526 per unit. At 30 units, total tuition cost for the program is $45,780.

University fees, textbooks, etc. are additional.
