Faculty of Business, Economics and Law is La Trobe University’s largest Faculty. FBEL offers courses at La Trobe’s main campus in Melbourne, La Trobe's new City Campus in the heart of Melbourne, as well as atour four Regional campuses across Victoria: Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Shepparton and Mildura.
There are three schools in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law --La Trobe Business School, School of Economics and La Trobe Law School. Each undertakes important research within their discipline areas and contribute to a host of national and international conferences.
Staff of the Faculty are internationally renowned for their research contributions and quality of teaching. This is proven by La Trobe University's rank as top in Victoria for student satisfaction (Sweeney Uni Student Report 2009), and 3rd by research (2010 academic ranking of Australian Universities).
The Faculty has continued to expand itsinternational focus, forming partnerships with universities in Asia and Europe, as well as nationally. The Faculty's overseas student exchange program provides opportunities for students to expand their horizons, both personally and academically, while the study abroad options grow the diverse university culture.
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law is leading the way with many Australian first courses, such asits postgraduate degrees in 'Islamic Banking and Finance', 'Corporate Social Responsibility',the undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and a unique, compulsory first year Dispute Resolution subject for law students.
The faculty's MBA and Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality) have been awarded EPAS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).This is the first MBA program in Australia to be recognised by the EFMD, which is one of the leading global accreditation bodies in the field of business and management, offering an assurance of quality and excellence.
