Introduction
Second-cycle program in Business and Finance Management aims to develop competencies necessary for a career in specialized and management positions in the management system, as middle and top-level managers, analysts, advisers, and consultants in commercial or public organizations, as well as for operating their own business. Completion of this program will prove especially beneficial to persons interested in pursuing careers in organizations with foreign investment, both because of English as the language of instruction and as a result of received training in navigating global socio-economic space. This program has been prepared for graduates from first- and second-cycle programs in the fields of management, economy, and finance, from faculties of economy and engineering, law and administration, psychology, sociology, and others.
The program is individualized by adapting its content to the changing demands of social and economic activities and to student expectations arising from the changing job market. Current important economic problems and approaches to resolving them are integrated into the curriculum.
The Faculty of Management and Social Communication has the A category granted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and was honored for education by the State Accreditation Committee. The variety of fields of studies conducted by the Faculty makes this unit one of the best interdisciplinary faculties of the JU.
The premises of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication are located on the territory of the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the JU Revival. The Faculty is located in a modern building that consists of well-equipped lecture halls, classes, and computer rooms. Studies at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication are known for exceptional research and didactic staff; unique fields of studies and original study programs not available at other Polish universities; possibility to get a double degree thanks to agreements with European universities; collaboration with the business sector; comfortable conditions for studying surrounded by the beautiful and green campus, UJOT TV television and UJOT.FM radio; various research societies which reflect the versatility of research conducted at the Faculty and its didactic offer. The study program is offered by the Institute of Economics, Finance, and Management, which is a part of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication. Students have access to the modern library of the Faculty the book collection of which is constantly supplied with the newest books (in Polish and English).

- Scientific Category A in the main discipline of Management and Quality Studies was awarded to the Jagiellonian University in Kraków by the decision of the Minister of Education and Science.
Program Outcome
Graduates of Business and Finance Management are equipped with advanced, specialized theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of management and related, in particular about problems of enterprises and public sector institutions, and the value of their correct operation. Graduates can perform critical analysis, interpretation, and assessment of phenomena and management processes in various scales, appraisal of environmental impact on those phenomena (processes), and they can prepare and execute managerial, and strategic decisions. They can organize teamwork and be team leaders, as well as efficiently communicate, negotiate, and persuade, also employing their fluency in English. Graduates are well-prepared for pursuing a career in specialized and managerial positions in the management system, as middle and top-level managers, analysts, advisers, and consultants in commercial or public organizations, as well as for operating their own businesses. They are particularly equipped for undertaking employment in organizations with foreign investment.
Professional Development
Upon graduation from the Business and Finance Management specialty, students will be prepared to work as specialized managers of middle and top levels in the private sector and in public administration. They can pursue careers as independent professionals, such as analysts or advisors. They will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for operating a business and the ability to navigate the global socio-economic space.
Language Competencies
Upon graduation, students are fluent in business English at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, including specialized vocabulary from the field of management.
Ideal Students
Studies can be undertaken by the holders of:
- Diploma of higher education (at least Licencjat or equivalent, e.g. bachelor) awarded in any field
An international diploma has to prove the candidate's eligibility to undertake the second-cycle programs of study in the country of issue.
Qualified candidates need to have graduated from the declared study program by the time of enrolment.
