Introduction
This program prepares you with knowledge regarding flexible and adaptive production systems that can proactively respond to industrial changes. The program builds knowledge in manufacturing strategies including reconfigurable production systems, production engineering, and automation.
This master’s program provides you with skills to carry out engineering work and manage improvements in a production system. It prepares you with knowledge regarding flexible and adaptive production systems that can proactively respond to industrial changes. The program builds knowledge in manufacturing strategies including reconfigurable production systems, production engineering, and automation.
The program has a holistic view of production including the development of the production system and its interaction with the entire product realization process. The program focuses on the design and development of production systems including an outlook into manufacturing reconfigurability strategies, automation, and production engineering. Thereafter, management of production systems is in focus where simulation tools will be introduced for analysis of a production system. Furthermore, taking a holistic view of the product realization process allows the students to understand the importance of integration of organizational functions, persons’ knowledge, and competencies in order to secure industrialization and production ramp-up to the required volumes, quality, and cost of products.
During semester 3 all students have the possibility to study abroad.
Graduates will be provided with methods and tools used for improving production solutions. Aspects of management are included in many of the courses, providing skills in leading and integrating production engineering during a new product realization process. Graduates will be highly skilled engineers with sustainable, innovative mindsets for the future development of a complex and digitalized industry.
Practical experience
The theoretical studies are integrated with guest lectures from industry, study visits as well as industrial tasks or projects applying theory in a practical task. An industrial placement course is an elective for an engineering placement in an industrial environment.
