Introduction
The Master in Data Science offers an academic learning experience in the development of mathematical models to generate information from data, aimed at improving the efficiency and competitiveness of organizations, as well as the quality of life of people.
This program is for
Professionals in disciplines related to engineering, economics, finance, and management with competencies and skills in mathematics, statistics, and algorithm development.
When studying at ITESO
- You will receive a solid and scientific education, specialized in the mathematical area to obtain information contained in a data set through classification, regression and forecasting processes.
- You will study a program with subjects of energy, environment, economy and social indicators, from different academic departments.
- You will focus on a strategic program on the efficient use of the resources of organizations and governments for making economic, financial, energy, environmental and public policy decisions to improve people's quality of life.
- Your study methodology will focus on problem solving, project development and case studies, with an immediate or immediate application approach.
- You will understand the ethical dilemmas about data acquisition and information management.
- You will learn to develop data-based models to propose innovative solutions to problems that impact people and organizations in the fields of energy, environment, business, and social sciences.
- You can do an academic exchange or summer stays at universities that are at the forefront in the professional field and that have an agreement with ITESO.
- If you need to reinforce your knowledge in mathematics and algorithm development, preparatory courses will be offered before starting the postgraduate course.
- The academic body is linked to the National System of Researchers (SNI) and the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt). In addition, the master's degree will enter the National Quality Postgraduate Program at a later stage.
Upon graduation from this program
- You will develop reliable processes for the acquisition and use of data, in environments where historically its obtaining has been deficient or null.
- You will interpret data based on the formulation of mathematical models for the detection and prediction of patterns.
- You will integrate mathematical methods and procedures with modern computational techniques to interpret information in various areas of human endeavor.
- You will develop in companies and organizations in the areas of business intelligence and predictive models for decision-making in companies, corporations, academies, universities or national and international research centers, government agencies and civil organizations.
