The Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is a world-class Institute of science and technology encompassing 6 prestigious French engineering Schools: École Polytechnique, École nationale des ponts et chaussées (ENPC), ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris, Télécom SudParis. Established in May 2019, he capitalizes on the 200 years of expertise of its 6 founding Schools.
A campus just outside Paris
Located on the Plateau de Saclay, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris campus brings together its six Schools. It offers students, faculty members and staff top-notch facilities to pursue their activities in a lively and stimulating environment. Set in the heart of one of the world's top eight innovation hubs, the campus benefits from the dynamism created by the private and public players based within the cluster. Ideally located just outside Paris, the campus is easily accessible by public transportation, allowing students and faculty members to take advantage of the economic dynamism and rich cultural life of the French capital

Research at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris is built on the recognized expertise of its Schools in ten major disciplines: Biology; Chemistry and Processes; Economics; Information, Communications and Electronics; Computer Science, Data, and AI; Mathematics; Mechanics and Energetics; Physics; Humanities, Arts, Literature and Languages; Social Sciences and Management. The research programs established by the disciplinary departments identify key fields and develop transdisciplinary research projects in partnership with industry. Research focuses on 12 research areas: Environment & climate ; Energy transition ; Artificial Intelligence and Data science ; Networks and the Internet of Things ; Mathematics and digital simulation ; Cybersecurity ; Defense ; Geopolitics and strategy ; Innovative Materials and Quantum Technologies ; Lasers and plasma Science ; Robotics ; Bioengineering. To this end, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris has set up major interdisciplinary centers to take up the greatest economic and social challenges of our time.

École polytechnique
École polytechnique, also known as L’X, is the leading French institution combining top-level research, academics, and innovation at the cutting-edge of science and technology. ENSTA Paris
Founded in 1741 under the name of Royal Shipbuilding Engineers School, ENSTA Paris is the oldest French engineering school. Its educational programs are characterized by a multidisciplinary approach in order to develop versatile engineers, a strong international exposure, an initiation to research, innovation and entrepreneurship.The quality of ENSTA Paris educational programs lies on its permanent faculty members (professors and researchers) as well as on the intervention of many speakers coming from the economic and industrial world. IP Paris benefits from ENSTA Paris well ranked in France and renowned expertise in the fields of transport systems, energy, artificial intelligence, mathematical engineering and complex systems engineering.
ENSAE Paris
Founded more than 75 years ago, ENSAE Paris has a unique educational project combining a high level of mastery in applied mathematics, statistics and economic analysis. Its educational project has evolved over the decades in response to the needs of the economy and changes in research. IP Paris benefits from ENSAE Paris unique expertise in economics and quantitative sociology, data science, finance and insurance. ENSAE Paris is also part of the Group of National Schools of Economics and Statistics (Genes).

Télécom SudParis
Founded in 1979, Télécom SudParis trains engineers in the field of information and communication technologies. Its educational program is based on an innovative approach favoring tailored academic programs offering theoretical courses, project-based learning, as well as business internships. Télécom SudParis also leads important research activities. IP Paris benefits from its in-depth knowledge of all topics related to ICT, such as networks, information systems, multimedia, modeling and applied mathematics. Telecom SudParis is based on the Saclay Plateau with the other four IP Paris Schools. It also have its second campus in Evry which is an integral part of IP Paris campus. Télécom SudParis is also a school of the Institut Mines-Télécom.
Visa Requirements
Long stay student visa
If you are a national of a European Economic Area country (European Union countries (EU), Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland, you don’t need any visa to study in France.
If you are not a national of a European Economic Area country (European Union countries, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland, you must request a from our partner Campus France, which is valid as a French residence permit (VLS-TS = Visa étudiant Long Séjour valant Titre de Séjour).
This visa allows you to remain in France for one year. You are not required to apply for a residence permit during this time. Your visa will need to be approved by the OFII (the French Immigration and Integration Office) within the first 3 months after your arrival in France.

- Case 1: If your country of residence is one of the 46 countries subject to the "Études en France" ("Studies in France") procedure , register on the "Etudes en France " platform and upload the required documents. Campus France will check your visa application file before you submit it to the French consulate.
