Recent cyber attacks have highlighted the importance of cybersecurity. Organizations need professionals at all levels—not just in the IT department—who understand the technical, legal and business aspects of cybersecurity risk management, as well as how to safeguard privacy.
Only the MS in Cybersecurity Risk Management from Indiana University will give you the unique—and valuable—ability to identify and mitigate a wide range of cyber threats in your chosen career path.
This degree program brings together cybersecurity courses from three of IU’s top-ranked schools—the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, the Kelley School of Business and the Maurer School of Law—and uniquely focuses on the intersection of technology, business, and law.

Students can earn concentrations within the MS, or they may take a more ‘general’ track. Before enrolling in the MS, you might be interested in earning one of IU’s cybersecurity certificates. All credits earned as a certificate student apply to the MS.

Prepare to become effective cybersecurity professional.
The MS in Cybersecurity Risk Management is a 30-credit hour program that can be customized to fit your schedule. The degree can be completed in as little as two years—or you can take up to five years. You may enroll full-time on the IU Bloomington campus or online.
Curriculum
Students will take at least six credit hours in Technical Cybersecurity, Information Technology Risk Management, and Cybersecurity Law and Policy.
In addition to these courses, there is a Cybersecurity Risk Management Practicum. In this capstone project, you will gain real-world consulting experience and find solutions for Indiana government agencies, local governments, and schools. Your recommendations will strengthen your skills—and minimize cyber threats.
