Introduction
Illinois Tech’s Master of Engineering in Energy Systems, Energy Conservation, and Buildings Track prepares students to meet the challenges of generating, storing and converting energy. With our university’s microgrid energy-distribution system, the first energy-distribution system of its kind in the country, Microgrid Design, and Operations are one of the unique courses offered in the energy conservation and buildings specialty track within this degree program.
Two additional specialty tracks—energy generation and sustainability, and energy transmission and markets—are also taught by faculty who have set the bar in energy systems and will empower students to become the next energy pioneers.
Program Overview
This program provides the knowledge necessary to understand the dynamics of power systems and their more complex analyses of them. Microgrid Design and Operations is one of the courses offered in the energy conservation and buildings specialty track.
Why Illinois Tech is one of the best value universities in the country
As an Illinois Tech student, you’ll automatically be considered for our university’s generous institutional scholarships. On average, this adds up to a savings of $107,472 on tuition and housing for every student during your four years at Illinois Tech ($134,340 for five years, based on fall 2021 figures).
We’re committed to dramatically reducing the cost of your degree, so you can focus on learning at one of the most dynamic and innovation-driven universities in the country.
Want some more great reasons?
