The International Hellenic University (IHU) was initially established by Law (No 3391/2005) and was based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The IHU was Greece’s first public university where programs were taught exclusively in English and comprised three (3) Schools that offered twenty-four (24) master's programs.

The International Hellenic University (IHU) was initially established by Law (No 3391/2005) and was based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The IHU was Greece’s first public university where programs were taught exclusively in English and comprised three (3) Schools that offered twenty-four (24) master's programs.
The International Hellenic University was re-established by Law (No 4610/2019), is based in Thessaloniki, comprises nine (9) Schools and thirty-three (33) Departments, and is located in Thessaloniki, Kavala, Serres, Drama, Katerini, Kilkis, Didymoteicho. The two Schools (the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Economics and the School of Science and Technology) of the IHU belong to the University Center of International Programmes of Studies (UCIPS) of the International Hellenic University offering programs that are taught exclusively in English.
The UCIPS, developed to facilitate modern learning methods, is situated on a 16,000m² campus outside Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece with an uninterrupted history of 2,300 years. Our state-of-the-art facilities, such as virtual classrooms, electronic library, IT labs, Digital Manufacturing, and Materials Characterization Laboratory, and Molecular Ecology/Molecular Biology Lab create an environment conducive to higher learning and research for our students.

Accreditation
Accreditation process by DOATAP for candidates that hold undergraduate Degrees acquired outside of Greece
According to Greek Law, in order to be accepted at a postgraduate programme of a public institution (such as our University), a candidate student who holds an undergraduate degree from a non-Greek institution, institution must be included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Higher Education Institutes of D.O.A.T.A.P – Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC) (in accordance with paragraph 4 of article 304 of the Greek Law 4957 /2022).
D.O.A.T.A.P – Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC) is the official body of the Hellenic Republic for the academic recognition of titles and qualifications awarded by foreign Higher Education Institutions, as well as for the provision of accurate information on the Higher Educations Institutions and qualifications in Greece and abroad. According to Article 304 of Law 4957/2022, universities and research centers are responsible for the recognition of the foreign title. For this purpose, universities and research centers examine whether the institution awarding the title is included in the National Register of Recognized Foreign Institutions and whether the title itself is included in the National Register of Title Types of Recognized Foreign Institutions posted on the D.O.A.T.A.P. website.
