Instituto de Estudios Superiores en Dirección de Empresas (IESDE, School of Management) has joined the G.E.M.F.M. GLOBAL INC, a program that has been designed and developed by finance professors with extensive experience in executive education, in close cooperation with financial professionals and educational experts. The Executive Masters in Financial Management program caters for the needs of the ‘new’ financial world by focusing on core capabilities: an international orientation, in-depth financial expertise, and the management skills and analytical abilities essential for a changing environment. The program pays attention to the personal leadership skills of the financial professional, stressing both effectiveness (getting things done) and responsibilities (impact).

The Global Executive Masters in Financial Management is offered by IESDE in conjunction with G.E.M.F.M. Global Inc., and graduates will have access to G.E.M.F.M.’s global alumni network as well as the extensive IESDE alumni network.

The content of the G.E.M.F.M. program meets the international standards of similar programs at internationally recognized and highly ranking universities and business schools. IESDE School of Management works together with a network of schools that offer very similar master programs.

This program is part of a periodic accreditation system and agreements on exchanges of students and staff between the programs, and a joint alumni group. In the second half of 2016, a team of three internationally respected finance professors will bring an accreditation visit to IESDE. These visits will be repeated periodically to ensure optimal quality control of the program.

All G.E.M.F.M. faculty members have been recruited from world-class universities and schools, providing a rich plurality of content and perspective. The group of teachers for this edition of the program comes from a wide array of countries on four different continents.

Candidates for participation in this program are submitted through a serious selection process. Solely the participants' qualifications will be taken into account; no compromises will be made in order to have 'a full class'.

The students evaluate every single module of the program, its didactical aspects, and the teachers. The results of this feedback are input for the continuous improvement of the program.

Financial management for today and tomorrow

After a series of financial crises, the financial world is and should be changing. Simultaneously, it does remain global, dynamic and complex. Therefore, the G.E.M.F.M. is firmly based on what academia has offered to financial management in the past few decades. But it does so while fully taking account of practice, including the context of financial management and including the role of actual human behavior.

The G.E.M.F.M. focuses on real financial management problems that have to be investigated and solved. It appreciates the power of academic results, but also pays attention to limitations of these results. It teaches how to look behind the numbers, how to pay attention to the context of financial management (compliance, governance, corporate responsibility) and shows the importance of the behavior of the manager and other stakeholders in the managerial process.

The main topics in the G.E.M.F.M. are corporate financial management, investments, and financial markets. These topics are approached with a multi-dimensional and interactive focus, including topics like leadership and decision making, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Many executive masters in financial management students take the opportunity to also prepare for the CFA exam during the program.

Global

The group of teachers for this edition of the program comes from a wide array of countries on four different continents.

The G.E.M.F.M. program includes a study trip to New York City, with visits to financial institutions and other important parties in the financial sector.

Participants of the G.E.M.F.M. will have the opportunity to exchange with partner schools within the G.E.M.F.M. network of schools in various places in the world.

Networking

The G.E.M.F.M. is an executive master’s program for working professionals, which allows for networking and high-quality class discussions. Through the international network, participants can also connect to students and alumni of another executive master in financial management programs abroad.

1. G.E.M.F.M. is an international program where 80% of the classes are taught in person by world-renowned lecturers and the rest by Mexican financial experts. It provides a global and current financial vision, in addition to Mexican contextual topics. The program:
