Introduction
The Master of Arts (M.A.) program in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature leads to a post-baccalaureate degree designed for individuals who are interested in multimedia language teaching, Western cultures, and literature. The program’s curriculum is based on the synergy of theory and practice and is developed to help students become outstanding scholars and professionals in the fields of literature and language.
To meet students’ academic and career needs, our courses cover both literature and language studies. In literature studies courses, we stress English writing skills, analysis of literary works, and the study of literary criticism. In language studies, the courses are concerned primarily with the practice and theory of English teaching via state-of-the-art technology and multimedia. In addition, we also offer a variety of courses, such as ESP, TESOL, Chinese-English Translation, Curriculum Design, etc. The academic education and training provided by the M.A. program will enable students to possess the expertise needed for success in students’ academic studies and careers.
