Introduction
Informed by industry demand and the vast array of job opportunities available, Glasgow Caledonian University'sd MSc International Tourism and Events Management programme delivers the practical and technical experience that you need to maximise the opportunities this growing sector has to offer.
You'll enjoy a truly international experience with the chance to network, volunteer and work in industry with guest lectures from those currently leading in the sector.
What you will study
- Developing an understanding or real world issues from a UK and global perspective, identifying responsible decision making and ethically driven behaviours
- Gaining practical skills through and industry placement and field trips
- Enhancing digital skills on key communication areas such as marketing, project management and visual presentations

Each application to GCU is considered on an individual basis. If you do not have the typical academic entry qualifications, but can demonstrate relevant work experience and/or credits from recognised professional bodies, you may be eligible to enter this course via the University's Recognition of Prior Learning scheme.
International pathways
If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may be eligible for the English for University Study programme.
International student start dates
For new international students, orientation events start on 14 September 2018. This extra time is specifically designed to assist new international students in settling into the UK and GCU prior to the start of general student induction and teaching.
There will be a whole host of fun and informative activities taking place during this period, including campus and city tours, as well as welcome events where you can meet other international students.

The Events, Sport and Tourism team consists of lecturers and active researchers who publish in academic journals and contribute chapters to edited book volumes in their particular field of study. The programmes are driven by the view that there are important distinctions pertaining to the future directions of the events, sport and tourism industries in Scotland, the UK and around the world.
Our students also benefit from guest lectures by industry experts and field trips.
