Introduction
Esade is a global institution structured as a Business School, a Law School, and an Executive Education area.
Esade is a global academic institution known for the quality of its education, its international outlook, and its focus on holistic personal development. Esade has strong ties to the business world.
Do Good. Do Better.
Do Good. Do Better. This encompasses our reason to exist and our purpose. It is our pledge to bring meaningful change by focusing on innovation and social commitment.
Esade’s academic activity encompasses three main areas:
Education Esade applies a unique and innovative learning model based on the internalization of values and the development of professional and executive competencies. | Research Esade generates new knowledge that helps to improve the dynamics of organizations, businesses, and the practice of law. | Social Debate Esade is a platform where people can gather and discuss important issues with the aim of improving society. |
Living the Mission: Our Reason for Being
Our mission and values serve as the pillars for the holistic education we provide students and professionals, an education to which we are fully committed.
Our mission: Education and research
People Provide a holistic education to individuals for them to become competent and socially responsible professionals. | Knowledge Generate knowledge to help to improve organisations and society. | Debate Contribute to social debate and help to build free, prosperous, fairer and socially and environmentally sustainable societies. |
At Esade, we fulfill this mission inspired by humanistic and Christian traditions within the framework of intercultural dialogue.
Declaration of values
(Approved by the Fundació Esade Board of Trustees on January 24th, 2008)
The Esade community is committed to promoting a set of values that are consistent with human quality and academic and professional excellence, values at the service of the local and global society in which we are immersed. These values are:
Integrity Instill integrity in all our academic and professional activities. This means behaving with a commitment to fundamental values such as rigor and hard work, honesty, a critical spirit, equity, and a sense of responsibility, even in difficult circumstances. | Sensitivity Respect colleagues and people, including ourselves, and being sensitive to others’ concrete circumstances. This implies respecting everyone’s dignity and being able to support and help others when they need it and working together to build a fairer and more humane world. | Diversity Positively value diversity and learn from differences between people, ideas, and situations. This means understanding that differences based on gender, ethnicity, language, culture, sexual orientation, religion, physical traits, or any other differences are opportunities to learn and enrich ourselves with different visions about people, the world, and ourselves. |
Contribute to the common good Seek, share and contribute to the common good. This means being aware that we cannot obtain our own good separately from that of the entire community and that, consequently, this has to be reflected in attitudes based on respect and responsibility towards the community. | A fairer and more sustainable society Assume responsibilities and commitments to achieve a fairer and more sustainable society. This implies seeing reality not just “how it is” in fact but, also, “how it should be”, in keeping with the fundamental values of justice and environmental sustainability. |
As an educational institution, we are convinced that imbuing our personnel, students, and participants with these values is extremely effective and will help us to overcome the social, cultural, and environmental challenges we will face throughout our lifetimes.
Society of Jesus
Origin Fundació Esade was founded thanks to the initiative of a group of entrepreneurs that asked the Society of Jesus in 1958 to educate professionals with a view to leading the social and economic transformation which achieved its maximum splendor in the 1960s. | Objectives The Jesuits’ long-standing tradition and experience in the educational field aim to fully develop people and provide them training with a clear focus on “service to others”. | Pedagogy This educational tradition translates into a pedagogical focus based on teaching to think and learn based on a profound social commitment. The Society of Jesus’ areas of activity not only include schools but, also, universities and business schools around the world. |

Language Center
Since its foundation, Esade has understood that a good professional should be extremely competent in several languages. To ensure this was met, Esade created its own language school, today called the “Esade Language Center” (ELC). We quickly consolidated ourselves as a highly reputable leader in language learning not just in Barcelona but also across Europe.
We help our students to develop their full potential to be able to communicate in different languages beyond borders and cultures.
Good language education does not limit itself to merely transmitting knowledge. Our mission as educators focus on the students’ holistic development as effective communicators, intercultural speakers, and professionals but, especially, as committed and responsible people. The objective of the Esade Language Center is to provide students all the possible options for them to play an active role in a learning process that is motivating, relevant, and effective, with invaluable personalized assessment.
Who are we?
We are a team of 33 professors from different countries and backgrounds, united by our passion for teaching our respective languages. That is why we have become pedagogical and language teaching experts. We love to innovate and test new methodologies and class dynamics to help our students successfully learn languages and develop the skills to be able to communicate effectively.
Our priority is for students to learn, develop their competencies and achieve their objectives.
What do we do?
We offer our experience and unique methodology to all Esade students, from undergraduate programs to the Full-Time MBA. We help them to take a significant leap forward in just a short time, creating relevant content adapted to each student profile and program.
