Introduction
The main objective of air transport is to ensure the safety of the passengers, crew and people on the ground which is mainly done through aircraft airworthiness activities.
Such activities must be considered as a coherent process running from the design of the aircraft to the monitoring of its technical condition in airline service. This Mastère Spécialisé covers both the technical aspects of certification, i.e the compliance with applicable requirements and the legal implications and obligations. This course has been designed to give future managers a broad understanding of the issues and priorities which, as far as aeronautical construction is concerned, have an international dimension.
Air transport deregulation and the development of a global economy necessarily imply an increase in vigilance on behalf of both the regulatory authorities and the industry. Progress regarding safety has been constant. In the last 30 years, the accident rate per flight hour has been reduced by a factor of 10. This may be insufficient due to the forecast increase in traffic. Current trends should encourage us to make even more improvements, and this necessarily involves training. This mastère spécialisé will provide future operators with the key to success in times to come.
This program is run in cooperation between ENAC and ISAE.

Career Opportunities
This Mastère Spécialisé in aviation safety – aircraft airworthiness has been set up for students who are considering a career in the aircraft airworthiness sector. The opening-up of the European air transport market, the development of the Asian market, and the aging of the world airline fleet all create real job prospects. The concerns of constructors and operators regarding the risks of a disorderly development of air transport increase the need for technical monitoring and quality control.
This Mastère Spécialisé offered by ENAC and ISAE takes advantage of the excellent relations of both Universities with leading companies in the aeronautical engineering sector both in Europe and worldwide.
Job opportunities with:
- Aircraft manufacturers
- Equipment manufacturers
- Airlines
- Maintenance or continuing organizations
- Civil aviation authorities
