This master is the leading graduate programme of its kind in Ireland. The MSc in Management (Business), is designed for people who do not have an undergraduate degree in management or business, but who would like to have a thorough preparation for a career in managing a business. It is a busy and intensive programme which runs for 12 months commencing in September. People taking this programme typically wish to complement their undergraduate degree with a business qualification at the masters level or would like to convert from their original undergraduate discipline and gain business acumen at a masters-level. We do not assume any prior knowledge of the modules or topics covered.
We also offer the MSc in Management (Strategy) for candidates who hold an undergraduate degree in a business related discipline, along with an MSc in Human Resource Management, MSc in Digital Marketing, MSc in Finance and an MSc in Electronic Commerce.
Who is eligible?
A second class honours grade 1 degree in a discipline other than Business, or an equivalent international qualification. If you have achieved a second class honours grade 2 honours degree in a non-Business discipline, you may still obtain a place. This will depend on the availability of places. You may be invited for an interview.
Modules on this programme include:
- Business Process Innovation
- Consulting Skills
The Practicum module is taken over the summer months, where you will work with a client organisation to solve a real-world problem or to exploit a real-world opportunity. Projects are sourced from DCU's research centres, corporate clients, or may be based on students' own insights and ideas. Previous companies include Microsoft, Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, 11890 and Blue Insurances. This is a great opportunity to apply all the learning that you will do over the year to a real-world case and will be a great asset on your CV upon graduation.
The MSc in Management (Business) is designed to be completed in one calendar year of full-time study. It consists of two (full-time) taught semesters, followed by a practical project, completed between May and early September. The next intake for this programme will be September 2017.
DCU offers a number of scholarships to international students each year. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship from DCU you must first apply to and receive an offer for a DCU Masters programme.
