Introduction
In the rapidly changing conditions of the natural and structured environment, the role of the Civil Engineer in society is constantly being upgraded, as the challenges become more and more complex. The depletion of natural resources, climate change, pollution and the effects on structures due to their aging, are challenges that must be addressed through a sustainability framework that will propose solutions. These solutions should not only br techno-economically optimal, but also environmentally friendly. The Master in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Planning aims at the high level of training of students in the fields of Civil Engineering with emphasis on sustainable planning and management of the natural and structured environment.
The program is designed to meet both the current and future needs of industry, providing students with the opportunity to enrich their knowledge through teaching advanced sustainable planning, infrastructure, road construction, geotechnical engineering and plumbing, but also use modern and innovative methods for monitoring and managing the natural and built environment. At the same time, students will specialize in one of the above areas with the preparation of a Master's thesis, under the supervision of the academic staff of the Department. Graduates of the Master in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Planning will be able to meet the modern technological challenges, as well as to continue their studies at a doctoral level.
