Introduction

The study program is accredited in the field of study 1.1.1 Teaching Academic Subjects. During the study, the students are taught the specific features of the Hungarian language and its usage, the Hungarian language history. They become familiar with the varieties of the mother tongue and the consequences of language contact. Within the literature, they acquire knowledge of literary theory, history of Hungarian and world literature, as well as mastering the techniques of literary criticism and analysis of literary texts. Students learn the methodology of teaching and acquire skills that enable them to apply knowledge of linguistics and literary studies. Graduates can use their knowledge in the cultural and artistic field too.
