Overview
The Dual Master’s Degree Program in Engineering Management is a part-time, joint international program between Chula System Engineering (CUSE), Chulalongkorn University, and the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick of the U.K. As the first program of its kind in Thailand, we aim at producing engineers and scientists who want to excel in their managerial and entrepreneurial competencies through innovative integration of business management and engineering into real-world applications.
Upon completion of the program (18 – 36 months), students will receive two distinguished master’s degrees: The Master of Engineering (M.Eng) from Chulalongkorn University; and the Master of Science (M.Sc.) from WMG, the University of Warwick in one of the three areas: Engineering Business Management (EBM), Supply Chain and Logistics Management (SCLM), or Service Management and Design (SMD).
Why This Program at Chula
Great Flexibility for Students
The program is open to applicants from various fields even without engineering background and is conducted based on a successful module-based system that provides great flexibility to part-time students. All modules, directly conducted by experienced tutors from the University of Warwick, offer practical teaching and learning by case studies, games, and simulations. Only five study days – mostly on weekends – are required for each module. There is no examination as students are evaluated by post-module assignments. Students are also allowed to enroll in overseas modules at partner centers, such as the U.K., Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. The program is also very accessible to students with an affordable tuition fee payment plan.
Top-Notch Education from Two World-Leading Universities
Since its inception in 1996 as the Regional Center for Manufacturing Systems Engineering (RCMSE) and evolved into Chula Systems Engineering (CUSE), the center has been the focal point of graduate-level teaching and research in engineering management and manufacturing systems engineering in the South-East Asian region. Our primary partner, the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), the University of Warwick is a multidisciplinary group that has become one of the largest centers of excellence in operations management in Europe since its inception in 1980. It is now a leading center for teaching, research, industrial development, and consultancy in manufacturing engineering. The WMG assists with the teaching and development of several overseas centers in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Cyprus.
Students will gain benefits from both Chulalongkorn and Warwick Universities. Apart from instructions from professors of WMG, Warwick University, students will also learn from prominent guest speakers who share a localized experience. The dissertation is supervised by renowned academic staff from Chulalongkorn University.
Extensive Networking both Locally and Internationally
Apart from our top-caliber instructors who are experts and renowned academia and professionals from local and international arenas, our students are also from a wide variety of backgrounds with outstanding professional experience and academic records from around the world. Students will build and foster their networking with the professors and their classmates as well as learn from each other. They will also benefit greatly from studying abroad if they choose to do so. Such international experience will broaden the students’ horizons and enrich their studies and career paths. Such valuable networks of alumni will be excellent assets for our graduates even when they leave the program to pursue their careers.
