Introduction
The MHI is a BIENNIAL program that is designed to develop among its graduates a “global” understanding of historical processes; While other programs limit their field of study to the borders of the national state, our master's degree seeks to familiarize students with Mexican historiography and with others different from it. Likewise, it seeks to highlight the parallels and processes common to all regions, so that political, economic, social, and cultural phenomena –with all their changes and permanence– can be analyzed in the light of their Spatio-temporal context. Finally, the program offers elementary training in the tools and methods of the historian, which are diverse and complementary to those of the other social sciences.
This master's degree is highly competitive insofar as it addresses a novel topic from multiple approaches and, at the same time, reinforces the general academic proposal of the CIDE (oriented towards economics, law, political science, international relations, and the public administration).
