Cardiff University is made up of two large, well-located campuses:
CATHAYS PARK
The Cathays Park campus is where most of our Academic Schools are based. With wide tree-lined avenues and elegant Portland stone buildings, it's an inspiring place to study.
The palpable feeling of history is contrasted by modern facilities including new labs, lecture theatres, and IT suites.
- 22 of 26 Academic Schools on site
- Less than half a mile from Cardiff's vibrant city centre
- £200m investment in state-of-the-art facilities including the new Centre for Student Life
- Several libraries on-site or nearby
- 24/7 security and comprehensive CCTV coverage
- Close to several halls of residence.
- The main Students’ Union building, located at the heart of the campus on Park Place, is one of the biggest and most active in Britain and was recently voted 2nd best in the UK.
Events, clubs, and information services are provided, and on-site facilities include food outlets, a general shop, bookshop, student letting agency, nightclub, and pub.
HEATH PARK
Healthcare-related courses (excluding Pharmacy and Optometry) are based at Heath Park. It's just a mile from the city centre and next to 100 acres of parkland and playing fields.
Our Academic Schools share the site with the University Hospital of Wales, one of the largest hospitals in the UK.
Each School has its own specialist resources and facilities. Study areas and IT facilities are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Lecture theatres, seminar rooms, libraries, and operating theatres are also on campus.
International experts in various medically related fields provide valuable services, including patient care, in this major teaching and research centre.
Residences and Students’ Union services are also at the site, and students can take advantage of the numerous sports amenities, including a pool, squash and badminton courts, and fitness suite.
