Introduction
Are you tempted by engineering, which is the driving force of the economy?
If you want to have a broader view and not focus more narrowly on a specific field of mechanical engineering, the study of Mechanical Engineering is the right choice for you. During the two-year master's degree, you will acquire deep knowledge in the field of engineering sciences. You will learn to choose the appropriate engineering approaches that will lead to the solution of the assigned task. You will gain theoretical and practical knowledge of various areas of engineering and develop your ability to work independently, independent decision-making and creativity, and soft skills. Thanks to the interesting composition of subjects, you will understand the overlap between individual areas, and you will be able to solve complex engineering problems about various aspects of construction, processes, management, but also economics, and ecology.
The curriculum of our program is designed to prepare the student for their further career in the field of engineering and other related areas. The program focuses on theoretical knowledge in various fields of engineering and developing the ability to work and make decisions autonomously.
Although the curriculum focuses on theoretical knowledge of engineering disciplines, we also concentrate on developing creativity and critical thinking through project-based learning.
Thanks to project-based learning and the nature of learning, graduates can demonstrate strong adaptability skills, which increase their chances of getting a job in many sectors of industry and commerce. Many graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering work in chief executive positions in design and computer departments of companies in several fields, or small computer and software companies, but also departments of big international companies.

Program Outcome
The graduate will gain broad theoretical and practical knowledge of various engineering disciplines. Thanks to the curriculum, they will understand the overlap between individual areas and will be able to solve complex engineering problems, while being able to consider several different aspects of design, processes, or management.
The graduate will exhibit well-developed skills in critical thinking and therefore will be able to select scientific methods that will help him/her to solve practical problems. Our graduates should be able to work on a task autonomously (studying a specific issue in detail) or within a team; they should be able to engage in a professional dialogue.
The graduate should become competent in critical thinking and should be able to use appropriate engineering approaches suitable for a given project. Thanks to these projects, which include real outputs, they should be able to consider the economic and ecological aspects of the proposed solution.
Our graduates will be able to present the results of their scientific work in front of an audience as well as in writing, and thanks to working on engineering projects, they will become proficient in interpersonal competencies and soft skills.
What Degree Programme Types May Have Preceded
The Master's Study Programme Mechanical Engineering Is Based on Bachelor's Study Programmes Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering in English and Czech Language Offered at The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
A Graduate of The Follow-Up Master's Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering Can Continue to Study the Doctoral Study Programme Design and Process Engineering or Any Other Similarly Focused Doctoral Study Programme.
Career Opportunities
Thanks to the project-based learning and the nature of learning, graduates can demonstrate strong adaptability skills, which increase their chances of getting a job in many sectors of industry and commerce. In fact, many graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering work in chief executive positions of design and computer departments of companies in several fields, or in small computer and software companies, but also in departments of big international companies.
