Why study at the Barcelona School of Economics

The Barcelona School of Economics is a leading institution for graduate education and research in Economics, Finance, and Data Science.

We select talented, motivated students from more than 90 countries and connect them with top-ranking researchers, experienced teaching faculty, international alumni, and a strong recruiter network.

The objective of our rigorous nine-month Master’s programs is to prepare graduates for professional and academic careers that require intense analytical thinking and a flexible mindset.

The Class of 2023 is made up of 223 students, from 47 countries, with an average age of 25 years.

The most common academic backgrounds for Barcelona School of Economics Master’s students are Economics and Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, or Social Sciences.

Students with undergraduate studies in any area who can demonstrate strong quantitative skills are encouraged to apply.

The Barcelona School of Economics was founded on the idea that individual potential is realized through collaboration with talented peers. We select candidates from a wide range of perspectives, experiences, and voices. In the Class of 2023, 90% of students are from outside of Spain, and 45% of students came from outside Europe.

Work experience before the master program

An education at the Barcelona School of Economics is a wise choice for both freshly-graduated undergrads and those who have experience in the workforce who are looking to improve and enhance their skill set.

Around 80% of students enter the Master’s directly after their undergraduate studies. Others have professional experience at consulting firms, international organizations, and banks as well as research institutions and government agencies.

All students benefit from this mix of profiles as they work together throughout their year at the BSE.
