Introduction
The general objective of the Master's degree in Disability is to train researchers for the promotion of knowledge in the field of disability and human functioning, based on the constitution of teams of interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and cross-sectoral facilitate the transformation of the particular context and collective person with a disability.
The master's degree in disability shall be competent to:
The understanding and explanation of the fundamental tenets that underpin the programme, with analysis from the human development prospects of the approach of the body and the models of action on disability, to encourage the independence, autonomy, and participation of persons with disabilities.
The conceptual integration of the processes of science such as philosophy, demography, ethics, medical science, statistics, political science, science, arts and letters, psychology, anthropology, and sociology to understand the situation of disability in a frame biopsychosocial and multidimensional.
The design of plans, programmes, projects, and actions of intervention in disability with a framework of equality of opportunity, to participate in processes of interdisciplinary, from the perspective of human functioning in the population with disabilities.
Participate in the formulation and development of scientific research projects related to disability, based on the production of scientific knowledge in the field of disability and human performance, facilitate the transformation of the particular context and group of the person in the situation of disability.
The Master's degree in disability is aimed at practitioners in the areas of health (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy) in Social Sciences (Psychology, Social Work, Family Development, Education, Architecture, and Industrial Design, and in general, professionals related to the disability.
