Introduction
Aarhus University’s (AU) Master of Science in Electrical Engineering centers on the research-based development of electrical and electronic systems, which plays a vital role in society. This two-year program equips students with specialized theory, state-of-the-art research, and the application of electrical technology. Moreover, students can choose to specialize in a wide array of fields, ranging from photonics to healthcare, robotics, and space technology.

Flexible Study Program
The first year of the MSc consists of 1/3 mandatory courses and 2/3 free-to-choose academic specialization study lines. The second year consists of a range of elective courses and thesis work. You can tailor the electives to your specific needs. The teaching is divided into lectures, theoretical and practical exercises, and laboratory work in small classes and small groups.

Curriculum
The teaching of electrical engineering is organized with two semesters per academic year.
The education consists of 20 ECTS mandatory courses, 40 ECTS study line courses, 30 ECTS elective courses, and 30 ECTS master thesis.

For the 40 ECTS study line courses, you must combine study line courses at level I (fundamental) and level II (advanced) of which a minimum of 15 ECTS must be at level II.
