- How can a star pretend to be exploding as a supernova?
- What is the origin of gold?
- When does the Quantum World become our World?
- How to detect life signatures on distant exoplanets?
To study these and many other fascinating questions, come expand your horizons through our advanced degree offerings. Enroll in the Department of Physics Master of Science program. Graduate studies include coursework combined with independent research under the supervision of experienced physicists in our department. Students are exposed to a wide array of methodologies and questions on the edge of science. Our master's program will transform you from a student to a researcher.
Our M.Sc. in Physics program is an international program. Along with our Israeli students, we have students from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Israeli and international students are welcome to apply.
The Department of Physics of Ariel University offers study programs towards a Master's degree in Physics (M.Sc. Physics).
Students who achieve excellence in their studies can transfer to a combined M.Sc.- PhD program (a direct route to PhD).
Curriculum
The program in the Physics track allows specialization in diverse fields of study:
- Theoretical Physics: Condensed Matter Physics, High Energy Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology, General Relativity, Solid State, and Condensed Matter Physics.
- Experimental Physics: Laser Spectroscopy, Dielectric and THz Spectroscopy, Biophysics, Medical Physics, Geophysics, Soft Condensed Matter, Applications of Accelerator Radiation, Accelerator Physics, Solid State Physics, Observational Astrophysics.
Career Opportunities
Physicists with a master's degree find employment in a variety of settings after earning their degrees. The unique perspective of physicists is valued in high-tech industries. Leading companies are starving for physicists who in many cases lead large projects and work as program solvers and system integrators. Amongst other employment environments, we can list government-funded labs, medical physics facilities, and algo-trading companies, the military industry, and more.
Talented M.Sc students are encouraged to proceed toward a Ph.D. at our university.
Students who achieve excellence in their studies can transfer to a combined M.Sc.- Ph.D. program (a direct route to Ph.D.).
